TEL-AVIV – September 03, 2014 - Side-Kick Games, a leading Israeli game studio today announced the production of a Virtual Reality (VR) enabled version of its popular 'Romans From Mars' title. The game is designed specifically for the Samsung Gear VR, revealed today at IFA.
The game, Romans 360, will bring the popular mobile title to the new Samsung platform via immersive 3D graphics and cartoonish humor. It is among the first games to be developed for the new platform and one of the first titles to be presented to public by Samsung at the IFA show in Berlin.
Samsung Gear VR makes Virtual Reality accessible by using Samsung phones as the screen and host devices as the VR system. Phones are housed inside plastic enclosures which contains two lenses, creating a full VR headset. By supporting the latest technologies in the Mobile VR space, Side-Kick continues to bring its cutting-edge technology to fast-growing markets. Side-Kick was among the first companies to develop motion games for technologies created by PrimeSense, Intel and Leap Motion.
"Romans From Mars, our flagship game, is expanding beyond the initial smartphone and tablet versions,” said Guy Bendov, Side-Kick CEO. “Romans 360 is a testament to Side-Kick's commitment to producing games which are both ground-breaking technology-wise, and focused on emerging markets. Samsung Gear VR represents the future of mobile immersive gaming experiences.”
